Cleaning Tools
Most vacuums include tools that allow you to clean other areas and items of your home. A narrow tool for crevices makes it easy to get the corners of rooms or couches and under furniture. An upholstery brush lets you clean your drapes, curtains, and other window treatments. Vacuums may also include a round brush for dusting. With all these tool options, it is easy to clean several rooms with this one item.
Hard Surface Option
Some vacuum cleaners have an option or setting that allows users to clean hard surfaces such as floors, porches, or patios. They can also be used with vinyl, laminate, and most surfaces without carpet. Using this option or setting ensures that your floor is not scratched; yet it allows the dirt or particles to be easily removed. Essentially, the suction and level of the brushes are designed to change depending on the type of floor.
Retractable Power Cord
A cord that automatically returns to its starting position is very helpful when cleaning. You will not have to worry about wrapping the cord around the knobs when you are done. A retractable cord allows you the ability to push a button or tug the cord to set it in its place. In addition, you do not have to keep the cord a certain way or worry about wear and tear from looping it around. The only thing about such a cord is that they are normally shorter, which is something to consider as you clean from one room to another.
Bagless Option
Vacuum cleaners with bags normally hold more dirt, and when you empty them, less dust is released into the air. There is normally a light on the vacuum, which lets you know when the bag or container is full; this means you must clean it before vacuuming for the best removal of dirt. Bagless vacuums help you save money, since you do not have to purchase bags, but you will need a filter, which has to be cleaned or replaced every once in a while. However, you do not need to change the filter as often as you would a bag.
